Cheapest social media scheduler: affordable social media management tools priced per connected account

Every list of affordable social media management tools ranks them by the number on the pricing page, which is the one number that does not predict your bill. A scheduler that advertises $5 can cost fourteen times more than one that advertises $15, because the first charges from the first account and the second includes fourteen. This page prices the same workload on every tool we have audited, using rates read directly off each vendor rather than from a roundup, and shows the date we read them.

The short answer

The cheapest social media scheduler by real cost per connected account is Zoho Social, whose $15 a month Standard plan carries 14 channels, or about $1.07 an account. SocialPilot Standard is next at $3.33, then Publer at $4.00 and Buffer at a flat $5.00 a channel. The spread across the category is roughly nine to one, and it does not follow the entry prices: Buffer looks like the cheapest tool in this market at $5 and is one of the most expensive once you connect more than three accounts, because it includes none. Price the accounts you actually run, not the plan.

Why it works

What you get

The real cost of a connected account, from about $1 to about $10, across every tool we have audited.

Per account, not per plan

Entry price tells you what a vendor wants you to compare. Cost per connected account tells you what you will pay. The two rank the category in almost opposite orders.

Read off the vendor, and dated

Every rate here came from the vendor's own pricing page, and each row carries the date we read it. Where we could not verify something we say so rather than repeating a figure from a roundup.

The scheduler is the cheap part

Fourteen accounts cost $15 to schedule. Filling them with content is the expensive part, and no scheduler on this page does it. Adapter.to does, at one flat rate.

What it handles

One input, rewritten for every channel

Drop in your source and Adapter.to reshapes it into channel-native posts, each with the right tone, length and format. You pick a tone, edit anything, and ship.

  • Turns one blog post, video, webinar or podcast into a channel-native version for every account you connected
  • Writes each network its own version instead of pasting one caption across fourteen accounts
  • Works from a URL, so a press mention or a product page becomes a week of posts without retyping
  • Feeds Zoho Social, SocialPilot, Buffer, Publer or whichever cheap scheduler you settled on
  • Charges one flat rate rather than metering you per account, per channel or per seat

Why Adapter.to

One tool that adapts any source to every channel

Not a video clipper, not a single-channel writer, and not copy-pasting between ChatGPT tabs. Any source in, every format out, each rewritten natively, in your voice.

Any source in

A blog URL, a YouTube video, a podcast, a newsletter or a pasted draft. One input is all it takes to feed every channel you publish on.

Every format out

An X thread, a LinkedIn post, an IG caption, a TikTok script, a newsletter, an email and more, each shaped to the platform, not the same text reflowed.

In your voice

Set a brand voice and pick a tone, then edit anything before you post. Every channel sounds like you, professional, casual or bold.

How it works

From one source to cheapest scheduler in three steps

1

Count your connected accounts, then divide

Write down every social account you publish to, including the second Instagram profile and the company LinkedIn page. That number, divided into the plan price, is the only figure that compares tools honestly. Entry prices compare nothing, because every vendor bundles a different number of accounts behind theirs.

2

Check what the plan includes before you check the price

Buffer includes zero accounts and bills per channel. Zoho Social includes fourteen. SocialPilot includes seven on its entry plan and fifteen on the next one up. Two of those three sentences change the answer more than the price does.

3

Add the second person

Seats are where cheap plans stop being cheap. Buffer doubles to $10 a channel the moment a second person logs in. SocialPilot Essentials offers no second user at any price, so a two-person team starts at $50 rather than $30. Sendible and Cloud Campaign never charge for seats at all.

4

Fill the calendar you just bought

A scheduler is an empty box. The work that costs real money is producing enough posts to keep fourteen accounts busy, and no scheduler does that part. Adapter.to turns one asset into every channel version at one flat rate, then hands you the text for whichever cheap scheduler you picked.

What is the cheapest social media scheduler?

By cost per connected account, Zoho Social. Its Standard plan is $15 a month billed monthly, or $10 a month billed annually, and it carries 14 social channels on one brand. That works out to about $1.07 an account monthly and $0.71 annually, which is the lowest real rate we have found in this category and not close to second place.

By entry price, the answer is different and much less useful. Buffer advertises $5 a channel and Publer starts around $4, both of which look cheaper than $15 until you notice what the $15 includes. Buffer bundles no channels at all, so the second account doubles your bill and the fourteenth costs you $70. Publer bundles none either, though its per-account rate steps down to $4.00 once you pass three accounts.

The gap between those two ways of reading the same market is the whole point of this page. The tool with the friendliest looking price is the fourth most expensive way to run fourteen accounts, and the tool with the highest looking entry price is the cheapest. Ranking by the number on the button gets you the wrong answer in most of this category.

What are the most affordable social media management tools in 2026?

For a solo operator or a small team publishing to a normal number of accounts, four tools are genuinely affordable and the rest are priced for agencies. Zoho Social Standard at $15 for 14 channels is the cheapest by a wide margin. SocialPilot Standard at $50 for 15 accounts is the best value once you need three logins, because it includes them, and we broke its whole tier ladder down in the SocialPilot pricing audit. Publer at $4.00 an account is the cheapest true pay-per-account rate. Buffer at $5 a channel is worth it only under about three accounts, where its free tier and its simplicity genuinely win.

Everything above about $5 an account is priced for a business that bills clients. Sendible at $5.83, Vista Social at $5.27 and Cloud Campaign at $7.00 are not badly priced, they are priced for someone reselling the output. If you are not billing a client for the work, those rates are hard to justify against Zoho Social doing the publishing part for a seventh of the price.

Planable is the outlier at $9.75 a page and it is not really competing on this axis. It sells client review and approval, its workspaces hold four pages each on Basic, and it charges the same again for every additional client. Judged as a scheduler it loses this table outright. Judged as an approval tool it is not in this table at all.

Why is the cheapest social media scheduler not the one with the lowest price?

Because the number on the pricing page and the thing being sold are two different units. Vendors in this category meter four separate things and the pricing page rarely says which one loudly enough. Buffer and Publer bill per connected channel with nothing included. Zoho Social and SocialPilot bill for a plan that includes a block of accounts. Sendible and Cloud Campaign bill per client workspace. Hootsuite and Sprout Social bill per staff seat. Our wider social media scheduler comparison lists the publishing limits each of them buries, which is the other thing entry prices hide.

Compare a per-channel price against a per-plan price and you are comparing a unit rate to a bundle, which is how a $5 tool ends up costing $70 next to a $15 tool costing $15. The fix is one line of arithmetic: divide every plan by the accounts it covers before you compare anything.

The second reason is seats. Cheap plans get expensive the moment a second person needs to log in, and every vendor handles that differently. Buffer doubles its per-channel rate from $5 to $10 on its Team plan. SocialPilot offers no second user on its entry tier at any price, so the real starting point for a two-person business is $50 rather than $30. Sendible and Cloud Campaign never charge for seats at all, which is why they climb this table on price and win a different one entirely.

Is a free social media scheduler good enough?

For a personal account, often yes. For a business with something to sell, the free tiers in this category are shaped to run out exactly when you start relying on them. Buffer's free plan covers 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts each, so a fourth account or an eleventh queued post ends it. Zoho Social and Publer both run permanent free tiers with similar shapes.

The honest way to think about them is as an evaluation period without a clock rather than as a plan. They are genuinely useful for deciding whether a tool suits you, and genuinely unsuited to a publishing schedule you depend on, because the cap is on the exact thing that grows when the strategy works.

The more useful observation is that the paid tier that removes the cap is cheap. Fourteen accounts on Zoho Social is $15 a month. Very little in a marketing budget delivers less friction per dollar than moving off a free plan that keeps interrupting you, and at these rates the decision is not really a budget decision.

What does a social media scheduler cost per month for a small business?

A small business publishing to the usual six accounts, meaning Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok and YouTube, with one person running them, should expect to pay between $15 and $35 a month. Zoho Social Standard covers all six inside its $15 plan with eight channels to spare. SocialPilot Essentials at $30 covers seven. Buffer works out at $30 for those six channels. Publer lands around $24.

Add a second person and the range moves to $50 to $70, because that is where seat policies start to differ sharply. Add client approvals and it moves to $100, which is where SocialPilot puts Client Approval and roughly where the whole category puts it.

Beyond that you are into agency pricing, where the metering model matters more than the rate. We costed a ten-client roster across every vendor on the social media management software for agencies page, and the short version is that the cheaper model flips depending on how many accounts your average client has.

What the cheapest scheduler still does not solve

Every tool on this page moves finished posts from a queue to a network on a schedule. Not one of them writes the posts. That is the line item people underestimate, because it is the only one that does not appear on a pricing page.

The arithmetic is worth doing. Fourteen connected accounts posting three times a week is 168 posts a month. At $15 a month the scheduling costs about nine cents a post. Writing 168 posts is where the real money goes, whether that is your evenings, a freelancer at $100 to $500 for a package, or an agency retainer that starts around $900 a month. We priced that side of the market on our content repurposing services pricing page.

That gap is what Adapter.to closes. Paste one asset, a blog post, a webinar recording, a podcast episode or just a URL, and it writes the X thread, the LinkedIn post, the Instagram caption, the TikTok script, the newsletter and the YouTube description, each shaped for its own network rather than one caption copied everywhere. Then you paste the results into whichever cheap scheduler this page pointed you at. The two costs are complementary, and the one that is genuinely cheap here is the scheduling.

Good questions

Questions people ask about cheapest Social Media Scheduler

Zoho Social, by cost per connected account. Its Standard plan is $15 a month, or $10 a month billed annually, and it includes 14 social channels on one brand, which works out to about $1.07 an account. SocialPilot Standard is next at $3.33 an account, then Publer at $4.00 and Buffer at a flat $5.00 a channel. Rates were read off each vendor in August and September 2026.
Only if you publish to three accounts or fewer. Buffer charges $5 a channel on Essentials and includes no channels in that price, so the rate is also the bill. Six channels is $30 and fourteen is $70, against $15 for the same fourteen on Zoho Social. Buffer also doubles to $10 a channel on Team, meaning a second person logging in doubles the whole invoice rather than adding a seat fee.
Zoho Social at $15 for 14 channels, SocialPilot Standard at $50 for 15 accounts and 3 users, and Publer at $4.00 an account are the three genuinely affordable options for a small team in 2026. Buffer is competitive below about three channels. Above roughly $5 an account you are into tools priced for agencies reselling the work, which is a reasonable price for that job and a poor one otherwise.
Between $15 and $35 a month covers the usual six accounts for one person on every mainstream tool. A second login moves that to roughly $50 to $70 because seat policies differ sharply. Client approvals move it to about $100 across most of the category. Scheduling is rarely the expensive line in a social budget; producing enough content to fill the schedule is.
Because vendors meter four different units. Buffer and Publer bill per connected channel with nothing included. Zoho Social and SocialPilot sell plans that bundle a block of accounts. Sendible and Cloud Campaign bill per client workspace. Hootsuite and Sprout Social bill per staff seat. Comparing a per-channel rate to a bundled plan is how a $5 tool ends up costing more than a $15 one.
It works as an evaluation without a deadline rather than as a plan. Buffer covers 3 channels and 10 queued posts each on its free tier, and Zoho Social and Publer run similar shapes. The cap always sits on the thing that grows when the strategy starts working. Since the paid tier that removes it costs $15 a month for fourteen accounts, the upgrade is rarely a real budget decision.
Not reliably, which is the surprising part. Zoho Social is the cheapest per account here and carries the widest channel list in the category at 14 networks. What the cheap tiers genuinely lack is team and client machinery: extra seats, client approval flows and white label reports. Those start around $100 a month almost everywhere, and that price is set by who the feature is for rather than by how good the tool is.
The content. Every tool priced on this page publishes posts you have already written; none of them turns a blog post, webinar or podcast episode into those posts. Fourteen accounts posting three times a week needs 168 posts a month, and at $15 the scheduling costs about nine cents each. Adapter.to handles the writing side at a flat rate and hands the text to whichever scheduler you chose.
