MeetEdgar alternative, MeetEdgar alternatives and competitors priced for 2026
MeetEdgar is a social media scheduler built around one idea: write a post once, file it in a content category, and let Edgar recycle it on a weekly schedule for months. Read off meetedgar.com on September 30, 2026, the Eddie plan costs $29.99 a month for 5 social accounts and the Edgar plan $49.99 for 25, or $299 and $499 a year billed annually.
People look for a MeetEdgar alternative for one of two reasons. Either they outgrew the Eddie plan's 4 categories and 10 weekly time slots and want something with more room per dollar, or the recycling works fine and the library itself has gone stale, because the same forty posts have been going out since last spring. The second one is what Adapter.to fixes. Paste a blog post, a YouTube video, a podcast episode or a URL and it writes the LinkedIn post, the X thread, the Instagram caption and the email from it, each shaped for its channel, ready to file into MeetEdgar's library or any other scheduler.

The short answer
MeetEdgar is an evergreen social media scheduler that recycles posts from a categorized library, not a repurposing writer. Read off meetedgar.com on September 30, 2026, the Eddie plan is $29.99 a month for 5 social accounts, 4 content categories and 10 weekly automations, and the Edgar plan is $49.99 for 25 accounts, unlimited categories, 1,000 weekly automations and a social inbox. Annual billing is $299 or $499 a year, about 17 percent off. Every plan includes 20 team members, unlimited scheduled posts and a 30-day free trial. From 10 accounts up Edgar costs less than Eddie with add-ons, and at 25 accounts it is about half the price of SocialBee. Adapter.to turns a published article, video or podcast into new posts for the library, from $29 a month.
MeetEdgar is a scheduler with a memory: it stores your posts by category and republishes them on weekly time slots, so an account never goes quiet. Adapter.to is a repurposing writer: it reads a finished blog post, video, podcast or URL and produces new channel-native posts. MeetEdgar keeps posts circulating, Adapter.to makes the posts worth circulating, and a library that gets new material every month is what makes evergreen recycling work at all.

What does MeetEdgar actually do?
MeetEdgar stores every post you write in a library, sorted into content categories such as tips, promotions, testimonials or blog links. You then set weekly automations, which are recurring time slots tied to a category: every Tuesday at 10 a.m., post something from Tips. When a slot comes up, Edgar picks the next post from that category and publishes it, and when the category runs out it starts again from the top. That is the whole product, and for a solo business owner who wants an account that never goes quiet, it is a sound one.
Around that core it adds unlimited scheduled posts, 20 team members on every plan, analytics, a social inbox on the Edgar plan, and Inky, an AI helper that suggests captions and hashtags inside the composer. Inky is metered: 15 credits a month on Eddie and 50 on Edgar, where one credit is one suggestion, and extra credits cost $2.50 per 100.
What it does not do is read a new article, podcast episode or webinar and write the week of posts that come out of it. Edgar recycles what is in the library. If nothing new goes in, the same posts keep coming back, and followers notice long before the analytics do.
How much does MeetEdgar cost?
We read meetedgar.com/pricing on September 30, 2026, and the figures match the page archived in July 2026, so they have not moved recently. Prices are in US dollars and exclude tax. There is no free plan. Every plan starts with a 30-day free trial with full access, after which the payment method on file is charged automatically unless you cancel first.
- Eddie, $29.99 a month or $299 a year ($24.91 a month). 5 social accounts, unlimited scheduled posts, 10 weekly automations, 4 content categories, 20 team members, no social inbox, 15 Inky credits. Extra accounts cost $4.99 a month, or $3.99 on annual billing.
- Edgar, $49.99 a month or $499 a year ($41.58 a month). 25 social accounts, unlimited scheduled posts, 1,000 weekly automations, unlimited content categories, 20 team members, social inbox, 50 Inky credits. Extra accounts cost $2.99 a month, or $1.99 on annual billing.
- Discounts. The annual toggle says "Save 17%", and the arithmetic holds: $299 against $359.88 is 16.9 percent off, and $499 against $599.88 is 16.8 percent. Nonprofits, charities and military or veteran families get a permanent 10 percent off.
Eddie or Edgar, and where the plans cross over
Eddie looks like the budget choice, and at 5 accounts it is. Per account, though, it costs $6.00 a month against $2.00 on Edgar, and every account you add to Eddie costs $4.99. Eddie with four extra accounts is $49.95 for 9 accounts, four cents under Edgar, which already includes 25. From 10 accounts up, Edgar is the cheaper plan on monthly and annual billing alike, and at 9 the two are within a dollar.
The account count is usually not what forces the upgrade, though. Four content categories and 10 weekly time slots are tight for anyone posting daily to more than one network, and they are the limits most Eddie users hit first. If you post once a day on two networks, you already need 14 slots a week.
Above 25 accounts, Edgar keeps adding at $2.99 each. Thirty accounts cost $64.94 a month and fifty cost $124.74, which is low for the category. What the pricing page does not list at any price is client workspaces, approval workflows or white label reports, so agencies should check those before assuming Edgar scales to client work.
Where MeetEdgar genuinely beats the alternatives
A comparison that only lists faults helps nobody choose. MeetEdgar wins outright in three places.
- Hands-off evergreen recycling. Categories plus weekly slots is still the simplest way to keep an account posting without touching it every week. SocialBee copies the model; most schedulers treat recycling as a checkbox on a single post.
- Seats. 20 team members on the $29.99 plan. SocialBee gives one user until its $99 Pro plan, and Hootsuite or Sprout Social charge per seat.
- Price at 25 accounts. Edgar is $49.99 for 25 accounts with unlimited categories. SocialBee Pro is $99 for the same 25 profiles, and SocialPilot Premium $100.
What is the best MeetEdgar alternative?
It depends on what made you look. Here is the shortlist, with prices we read off each vendor's own site in 2026.
- You want the same category recycling with more room. SocialBee Bootstrap is $29 a month for 5 profiles and 10 content categories, and Accelerate $49 for 10 profiles and 50 categories, with unlimited AI generation on every plan. It is one user per plan until Pro at $99.
- You only need a plain scheduler for a few accounts. Buffer Essentials is $5 a channel, $25 for five. Publer Professional is $4 an account from the third, $20 for five.
- You want recycling plus a marketing calendar. CoSchedule Starter is $39 a month ($29 annual) for 3 profiles with ReQueue recycling groups, and its extra profiles cost $5.
- You run an agency with client approvals and reports. SocialPilot Premium is $100 for 25 accounts and 6 users with client approval and white label reports.
- The library keeps going stale. Adapter.to turns one blog post, video, podcast or URL into channel-native posts for LinkedIn, X, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, email and newsletters, and you file them into MeetEdgar to recycle.
MeetEdgar vs SocialBee, Buffer and Publer on price
Three workloads, monthly list prices read off each vendor's own pricing page.
Solo owner, 5 accounts. MeetEdgar Eddie $29.99 with 4 categories. SocialBee Bootstrap $29 with 10 categories. Buffer Essentials $25 and Publer Professional $20, neither built around category recycling. If recycling is the point, SocialBee gives more for a dollar less; if it is not, Publer and Buffer are cheaper.
Small team, 25 accounts, 3 people. MeetEdgar Edgar $49.99. SocialBee Pro $99. SocialPilot Premium $100. MeetEdgar costs half as much here, and this is the size where it is hardest to beat.
Agency, 50 accounts, 5 people. MeetEdgar Edgar $124.74 (25 accounts plus 25 at $2.99). SocialBee Pro50 $179. SocialPilot Ultimate $200. MeetEdgar is still cheapest on sticker; the reasons to pay more are client workspaces, approvals and branded reports. Our cheapest social media scheduler comparison runs more tools through the same arithmetic.
Why an evergreen library goes stale, and what to add instead
Recycling only works while the library is large and current. Forty posts on a daily slot repeat every forty days, and followers who see the same tip for the third time in four months start scrolling past it. The fix is not a different scheduler, it is a steady supply of new posts, and most small businesses already produce the raw material: a monthly blog post, a podcast episode, a webinar, a customer email.
Put a number on it. Turning one article into an X thread, a LinkedIn post, three Instagram captions, a TikTok script and a newsletter section takes about two hours by hand. Doing that for four sources a month is eight hours, several times the $29 Creator plan at any realistic US hourly rate. That is why this table carries neutral crosses on six of our rows: MeetEdgar owns the publishing and the recycling, and Adapter.to owns the writing that keeps the library worth recycling.
Can you use MeetEdgar and Adapter.to together?
Yes, and if MeetEdgar's recycling and seats are why you chose it, that is the sensible setup. Once a month, paste your newest article, episode or video into Adapter.to, then add the posts it writes to the matching MeetEdgar categories. The library grows by a few dozen fresh posts a month instead of repeating the old ones.
Nothing needs integrating, because Adapter.to returns plain text. Podcasters start with podcast to social media, writers with repurpose blog posts, and teams starting from a web page with URL to social media posts. Verified pricing for every tool in the category is on the content repurposing tools comparison.
Why creators pick Adapter.to
One tool that adapts any source to every channel
New posts, not the same forty again
MeetEdgar recycles what is already in its library. Adapter.to turns a finished blog post, video, podcast or URL into a week of new channel-native posts to add to it.
Keep MeetEdgar at 10 to 25 accounts
Edgar at $49.99 for 25 accounts and 20 team members is about half the price of SocialBee or SocialPilot at that size. Add production instead of replacing it.
Switch if you need more categories for less
At 5 accounts, SocialBee gives 10 categories for $29 against Eddie's 4, and Publer or Buffer cost less if recycling is not the point.
